Boundary Surveys

A boundary survey is made to establish or re-establish the bounding lines and corners of a parcel using its legal description.  A boundary survey typically involves the setting or restoration and marking of monuments at the corners of the parcel.

In the past, wooden posts, marked stones, pieces of iron railroad track, and farm implement parts were used by the historical surveyors for corner monuments.

A map or plat is drafted using the survey measurements and evidence observed in the field to provide a representation of the parcel surveyed.
